NEW UK MUSICALS - WRITER TERMS & CONDITIONS
PART ONE: THE WRITER - Terms & Conditions, by ticking in the agreement box below THE WRITER confirms that:
1. They are one of the original authors of the work credited to them on New UK Musicals, and own or part own the copyright of the work credited to them and distributed by New UK Musicals.
2. They have the right to sell the work credited to them (and their co-authors) on New UK Musicals on behalf of themselves and all co-authors.
3. They are responsible for supplying high quality PDFs of their sheet music for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the PDF quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
4. They are responsible for supplying high quality DEMOS for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
5. They are responsible for supplying high quality BACKING TRACKS for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
6. They are responsible for the legibility and playability of the music they have provided and that if there are any complaints regarding the playability of the sheet music provided they will ensure that any complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
7. They are responsible for ensuring that all co-authors of their work receive the appropriate monies for their contribution to the work, according to any splits or contracts previously agreed amongst the co-authors.
8. THE DISTRIBUTOR will not be held responsible should THE WRITER (or the co- authors of their work) breach any other contracts to third parties by providing their work for sale on the site.
9. They have received written permission of any performers involved in song demos to feature their work on New UK Musicals. They agree to credit performers where appropriate when submitting songs.
10. They (and their co-authors) are responsible for paying TAX/VAT on any earnings from sales of their work on New UK Musicals.
11. They grant THE DISTRIBUTOR the NON-EXCLUSIVE right to sell their (and their co-authors) sheet music and backing tracks on their behalf, meaning they are free to sell their music through other mediums.
12. They will respond ASAP or within one week at the latest to communications from New UK Musicals regarding the promotion and sale of their work.
13. They will notify THE DISTRIBUTOR as soon as possible regarding any changes in their situation that would affect any of the conditions in this contract.
14. They will engage and actively participate with New UK Musicals through social media as well as in collaborations with our partners in order to raise the profile of all the writers on the site, especially during competitions.This could be more specific – especially around support for competitions
15. They agree to allow THEDISTRIBUTOR to offer a very limited amount of their sheet music (no more than two pieces of music with backing tracks) as a prize per competition.
16. Should THE WRITER’S work be selected for one of the curated New UK Musicals Songbooks, THE WRITER has the right to refuse inclusion of their work should they wish to.

PART TWO: THE DISTRIBUTOR - Terms & Conditions
This section details the responsibilities and rights of THE DISTRIBUTOR. Upon THE WRITER'S agreement to these terms and conditions, THE DISTRIBUTOR confirms that:
1. They will maintain THE WRITER’s profile on the New UK Musicals website to a high level. Including updating headshots, featured videos, biographical information and songs when provided by THE WRITER.
2. They will respond ASAP or within one week at the latest to requests/queries regarding maintenance of THE WRITER’s profile, including the update of any song materials.
3. They will not disclose THE WRITER’s information to third parties without their express permission.
4. They will pay to a nominated bank account sales due to THE WRITER from the sale of their work through the New UK Musicals website on a quarterly basis. (see PART FOUR: FINANCES).
5. They will promote THE WRITER’s featured work as part of the site through social media, competitions, marketing and advertising etc. ________________________________________________________________________
PART THREE: FINANCES This section details the financial arrangements between THE DISTRIBUTOR and THE WRITER.
1. THE WRITER agrees to pay a monthly subscription to THE DISTRIBUTOR of £5.50 per month in advance as per subscription instructions.
2. THE WRITER agrees to pay an initial administrative set-up non-returnable fee of £10.00 to THE DISTRIBUTOR as per subscription instructions.
3. Monies due from sales through the New UK Musicals website will be split as follows: .
a) Individual Song Sheet Music (97.5% to THE WRITER, 2.5% to Square Sales Platform, 0% to THE DISTRIBUTOR)
b) Individual Song Backing Tracks (97.5% to THE WRITER, 2.5% to Square Sales Platform, 0% to THE DISTRIBUTOR)
c) Individual Show Songbooks supplied by THE WRITER (97.5% to THE WRITER, 2.5% to Square Sales Platform, 0% to THE DISTRIBUTOR)
d) Curated New UK Musicals Songbooks (85% THE WRITER, 2.5% Square Sales Platform, 12.5% to THE DISTRIBUTOR)
4. THE WRITER agrees to provide a valid UK bank account for receipt of all monies due
5. THE DISTRIBUTOR agrees to pay all monies to the nominated bank account on a quarterly basis. THE DISTRIBUTOR will provide itemised remittance with all payments.

PART FOUR: TERMINATION OF CONTRACT
This section details the arrangements regarding termination of this contract between THE DISTRIBUTOR and THE WRITER.
1. Either party can terminate this contract with 30 days notice written notice, upon which, any monies still due to THE WRITER will be paid and their profile and materials will be removed from the New UK Musicals website.
2. THE WRITER’s membership on the New UK Musicals website will be subject to a 3 month probationary period during which this contract can be terminated by THE DISTRIBUTOR with 7 days notice. Should such a termination occur, the remaining proportion of monies from any subscription already paid will be returned to THE WRITER. The administrative fee of £10.00 is non-returnable. ________________________________________________________________________
PART FIVE: THE FUTURE This section details future arrangements regarding the development of New UK Musicals.
1. THE DISTRIBUTOR agrees to keep THE WRITER informed as the operation of the New UK Musicals website continues to develop. Should any forthcoming changes affect the terms of any of the items mentioned in this contract, a new contract will be drawn up for all parties in order to agree altered conditions.

2. They have the right to sell the work credited to them (and their co-authors) on New UK Musicals on behalf of themselves and all co-authors.

They are responsible for supplying high quality PDFs of their sheet music for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the PDF quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
4. They are responsible for supplying high quality DEMOS for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
5. They are responsible for supplying high quality BACKING TRACKS for UP TO 15 songs to the New UK Musicals website and if there are any customer complaints regarding the quality of the work they’ve provided they will ensure that complaints are addressed ASAP or within one week at the latest.
