BATEMAN & CONLEY
Luke Bateman and Michael Conley met too long ago as founding members on the BML Workshop. Together they have written many musicals (THE SORROWS OF SATAN, THE LITTLE BEASTS, PERSONALITY (based on the novel by Andrew O’Hagan) and THE FABULIST FOX SISTERS) and one cabaret (BATEMAN AND CONLEY: TOGETHER AGAIN FOR THE FIRST (AND LAST) TIME).
Luke Bateman studied music at the University of Sussex and singing at the Guildhall School of Music. Other musicals include: The Olivier Award nominated OI FROG & FRIENDS, MR POPPER’S PENGUINS, H.R.HAITCH, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, BACHELOR BOYS and LORD BYRON’S MISTRESS. Music for plays include: THE NIGHTINGALES, REEL LIFE; DARK TOURISM, THE AUTUMN GARDEN, ON APPROVAL, ST JOHNS NIGHT, and MOTHER ADAM .
Michael studied musical theatre performance at Abilene Christian University. In NYC he wrote and appeared in THE GAY & LESBIAN COMEDY FEST and HELLO, BOYS! (with Matthew Loren Cohen). In London he joined BML where he also met Richy Hughes and Joseph Finlay with whom he wrote SUPERHERO (Winner of the 2018 Off West End Award). In development: the play 7 PAGES IN THE 83RD VOLUME OF THE PHS FLASHLIGHT and the musical INDECENT PROPOSAL.
