Applin & PEARSE
Rebecca Applin and Susannah Pearse have written several musicals together including THE 45TH MARVELLOUS CHATTERLEY VILLAGE FETE (Perfect Pitch) JABBERWOCKY (Youth Music Theatre/The Other Palace) and HOURGLASS (Mayflower400 project/Mayflower Theatre, Southampton). Their songwriting was featured in A SONG CYCLE FOR SOHO at the Soho Theatre and they have been nominated for The Stiles and Drewe best song award. They have also collaborated with Kate Ferguson on an adaptation of THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE for the George Bernard Shaw estate. They are both members of Mercury Musical Developments.
Rebecca's recent credits include THE BEAUTY PARADE (Wales Millenium Centre); PUSS IN BOOTS (Chipping Norton Theatre, nominated for Best Music in the Great British Pantomime Awards); THE LADYKILLERS (New Wolsey Theatre). She won the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer Award and was nominated for a BAFTA for her screen work in musical theatre for young people with special educational needs.
Susannah's other credits include TREASURE ISLAND with Kate Ferguson (The Octagon, Bolton), THE STATIONMASTER with Tim Connor (Aria Entertainment) RAPUNZEL with Youn Young Park (Singapore Rep) and FARM! with Robert Hudson (Greenwich Theatre). In addition to her theatre work, Susannah also composes the music for the songs on JOHN FINNEMORE'S SOUVENIR PROGRAMME (BBC Radio 4).
